Thirty Three Years Ago...

I was shoving cake in the Hubbs face.

All of our Pics. are in the storage unit...
so I was stuck with this one...
the only one on my computer.
Not the greatest but you get the gist...

2 people in love...
lots of family and friends...
cake...
Quilts...
presents...
Bad Hair day for both of us...
Light blue wedding colors(yuck) least fav. color-don't ask.
It could provoke an argument. lol

White fluffy dress{Clear up to my Chin}
White tux {with tails}.

I was totally in la-la land.
Had no idea what the next 33 years would bring.

The odds on our Marriage were not good.
We were both the babies of our families.
We were young.
We were poor.
and on and on.

But looks like we made it!

It's been like strawberries & sparkly

Totally kidding...

It's been more like a Fiesta!

That's not true either.
Some days it was like...
2 babies raising a baby!

You know- lots of whining & crying going on.

There were 4 CUTE babies added.
Lots of bottles and diapers.

More bad hair days.
Then we switched to Baptisms, ball games, dance lessons, singing lessons, piano lessons, school, Chess tournaments,Spelling bees, loose teeth, braces, boyfriends, girl friends &

Lots of money for designer {GAP} clothing.
Bad Hair Days.

Then there were graduations, weddings, Missions.

The kids were all growing up faster than we could believe, but My Man & I kept holding hands through it all.
{ in between all the screamings}&
more bad hair Days.

Adding more kids to the mix.

Don't have pics. of my girls weddings. {boo}

Along with the good times, we had our bad times too. We are normal after all.

We had 2 totally different ideas on how to raise and discipline kids.

We had 2 ideas on how to budget...
what...a budget...crap, I got no training on that one. Good thing the Hubbs did.

We endured lots of illnesses, surgeries,& diseases.

We learned much from owning and operating a Flower shoppe for 8 years.

We learned that every day is Precious.

We lost my Mom, Dad, step Dad and Glen's Dad all in a few years-We miss them so much.

I owe everything I am or hope to be to my Dear Sweet Mother.
{I borrowed that one from Abe}

Then came the Grands...

Wow- They are the Grand Prize!

 We have been blessed!
Just take a look at us NOW!

We have come a long way Baby!!!

Not quite as cheesy as we used to be.

Thank Goodness.

So this post serves as a reminder...
You can survive many things...
against all odds.

Here's to 33 or more Years with
the
{Hubbs, R, Dear, Jerk, Crazy, my one & only}.
Happy Anniversary Babyyyyyy!!!

Hope all of you have a great President's Day Holiday!
&
Love the ones you LOVE.

Healthy Eating for 2012.

I am always on the lookout for a "tasty" way to eat healthy. I know...it sounds like an absurd sentence, but...

This is delish & nutrish.

Oatmeal-cooked 2 min. in microwave
1 packet of Truvia
French Vanilla Coffee Mate{fat free is better}.

It makes me feel like I'm eating dessert for breakfast!

Fiber & French Vanilla
Who Knew.
Healthy can be Tasty!

Happy Wednesday to all!!!

January...You are Cruel.

I write today with a heavy Heart.
My big brother Dennis returned to our Father in Heaven. Jan. 6th, 2012 {tears}

Our First Family Pic.
He's the oldest- I'm the youngest.

Jan. 2010-My good friend returned Home also.
See my post about her last January-(Remembering).

That is why January is Cruel!!!

ALSO:
I do not like January anyway because:

It is so quick to replace the Merriness of December.

It is usually unbearably cold.

It makes me promise to do things, that I probably won't do, and then I feel guilty later.

It usually makes me have a head cold followed by a cough.

I'm almost always broke as a joke.

Then there is Paperwork and taxes to do
in this dreaded month.

On & On.
That is why i dislike {you} January!

Back to my brother...
He was a generous man and we all got to hear stories from people he had helped.

He was a good father to 6 kids and grand Father to 17 Grand kids.

He loved studying the Scriptures.

He loved Fishing.

He loved Golfing.

But most importantly he loved his Family!

He always had a smile or a joke or a smart remark.

He reminded me of my MOM.{good thing}

He liked to eat.

He liked to share.

He was very handsome-I have pics. in storage.
I will post them soon.

He was a True Big Brother
in every sense of the word!

I loved him very much...
Wish I could have said Good-Bye.

We must all carry on now,
without him.

He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
So Long Brother!
Until we meet again...

January- You are Cruel.

I only like you a teensy bit
because you brought the birth
of this little Guy:

Who turned 5 Today- Yay!

I hope to give January a second chance.
Redeem yourself January- it's time.

Sorry for the Sad post.
Sometimes Life Stinks...

So Long Friends-Happier posts ahead.

Still Decking the Halls...

What's Christmas without a Gingerbread House?

That ginger bread house making is a lot of work, and it makes a little boy very hungry and a Grandpa very tired. lol
Tannon was so excited, he has been waiting for weeks to build this house- he called
his Mom to make some gingerbread men for the house. Get right on that Mom...

I stayed home all day to do some final crafts, it was so relaxing in my PJ's.
I could really get used to a life of PJ's and crafting. Ha-ha

Found these cute letters at Wal-mart, so I had to Mod-podge some cute paper on them-RIGHT?

I also found these styrofoam shapes at Wal-mart, so I wrapped them in cute yarn and glued them on a wooden spool that is mod-podged with cute paper. Glued berries, stars, and a felted ball on top. I will keep these out for January Decor.

I found this tree at Pebbles in my pocket-wrapped it in tinsel and glued a felted ball on top. The snowman was gifted to me last year, so I  introduced him to my tree. They make a good pair- don't you think?

This is where the PEACE ended up, because the letters would not stand up. ugh..
so I glued them on red tinsel, so I could hang them somewhere.
I wanted them above my nativity,but they were too heavy...{boo}
oh well, it is the eleventh hour so I'll make do.
Well goodnight my friends, I have much cooking to do tomorrow for all my kids and grands.
{I will miss you Chris & Cic.}= tiny tears

Have a very Merry Christmas!!!

Find someone to serve tomorrow...
it will do your heart good.

And I am loving all of it,
